A New Beginning

January 1, here again…. so of course some resolutions.
This year I’m trying to make some that I can stick to; I’m overdue for a lifestyle makeover. The kids are not babies anymore (wahhha!) so it’s time for all the can’t get it done because the kids are so little excuses to go, and to find a way to work around their current needs and behaviors. (Anyone else’s toddlers TRASHING the house… so much fun being the constant cleaning crew) So… here’s the short list (well ok the list)
1. Get back into a steady Exercise routine
2. Eat Better
3. Loose weight and find my waist again =)
4. DO NOT OVERCOMMIT MYSELF
(I’m so terrible at this I suffer from chronic volunteerism)
5. Get myself into a daily routine/schedule
6. Put work away at the end of the day for at least 1 hour before bed.
I think I should stop there before I get carried away =)
So how does this all work…
So far I have my new morning plan ironed out it’s the afternoon- evening that I still have to work on.
As for the exercise, I have this little coffee addiction and my husband was so wonderful to buy me a Coffee bar Espresso/cappuccino maker for Christmas, so I’ve told myself no cappuccino until I’ve completed my exercise obligation for the day. So far (2 days in) it’s doing the trick.
Eating better, lower carb, and less cheese…. Ohh the cheese is so hard do resist… But really I’m just disgusted with myself and I need to get my big butt back into shape, I know I’ll feel better once I get in the groove again… my trick Weight Watchers… it’s always worked for me in the past and I love that it’s a lifestyle it really does teach you to eat better, prior to letting it all go out the window with the babies I was looking pretty stealthy =)
Over-committing….
I have a few ideas here firstly – EVERYTHING is getting put into my Planner and my Calendar on the Mac hopefully if it is all up in front of my face I’ll realize how much I have committed myself to and I’ll think twice about adding to that long list =)
Secondly I’m going to limit the number of sessions (full and Quick Take Mini’s) that I accept each month, and I’m going to adhere to the timelines I have given (you) my clients, instead of making myself nuts to push things out quickly. I LOVE LOVE seeing you all, but I have to have some balance, I have not spent nearly enough time with my family in the most recent months (me working while they watch TV doesn’t count) and that has to change. I do this work because I value family so much it’s time to show mine how much I value them too…
So… book early, don’t wait until the last minute to schedule your sessions, and be aware of the deadlines for each holiday, expect your images to take 6-8 weeks to be processed and shipped, and plan accordingly.
In addition to this I think I’m going to limit myself to ONE charity engagement a month…. (If not every other especially during the busy seasons).
Daily routine.
Well so far I have the first half of my day outlined…
6:30- 7 workout
7-7:30 check e-mails enjoy my well-deserved cappuccino and breakfast
7:30 – 8:30 feed the kids, gather laundry and tidy while they eat
make the day’s to do list, (sneak in a shower)
8:30-10 Dress the kids and play with them (some form of organized play)
10-10:30 Story time read with the kids
10:30 – 12 Let the kids choose a movie or TV; check on laundry prep for dinner and make lunch, check e-mails and do a little work
12-1 Lunch and crafty play (something messy like paint or playdoh or have them help me make lunch or prep for dinner)
After that it’ gets hazy… but I’m working on it
Bedtime -
I need to go to bed at 10pm and stop working for the night at 9, I’m not sleeping enough in general and because I often work until the second I put my head down, my mind is still racing and thinking about work.
So, that’s my plan…. Lets see how I do sticking to it.

Hey gorgeous! I’m really looking forward to following your journey throughout the year and can’t wait to see what wonderful photographic work you produce in 2008!
Goodluck with all of your plans for 2008! I hope you can stick to your new schedule! xo
